Start and finish
The 15 K road race race starts and finishes in the historic town centre of 's-Heerenberg, close to the church. The race commences at 12 noon.
The 22nd Montferland Run course crosses the hilly landscape of the Montferland Forest and leads through Stokkum, Beek and Zeddam. The hilly course is one of the loveliest and fastest in the Netherlands.
Regisitration is only possible via Internet. On race day, race number, can be collected from the Registration Desk on receipt of a cash payment.
Note: Registration is possible as from September 1st. Entry closes when 3,000 runners are registered or on November 15th 2017.
The results will be published on the evening of December 3rd on this website under "Uitslagen" [results].

Women: Bezunesh Bekele (Ethiopia) 48’32.
The first race was held in 1996, with 325 runners. During the last race, a total of more than 3,000 competitors crossed the finish line.
The Montferland Run is one of the fastest 15 km races in the world. Many top national and international athletes have competed in ’s-Heerenberg, including: Kamiel Maase, Khalid Khannouchi, Reuben Kosgei, Richard Limo, Kenenisa Bekele, Abel Kirui, Geoffrey Mutai, Wilson Kipsang, Stephen Kiprotich, Dennis Kimetto, Constantina Dita, Edna Kiplagat, Lornah Kiplagat, Meseret Defar and of course Haile Gebrselassie and Paula Radcliffe.
The Gelderlander Youth Race
The Gelderlander Youth Race covers a distance of 1K.
For each category, a classification is drawn up.
There are prizes for the first three boys and girls per category
The associated start times are:
12.15 youth aged 11 to 12 and 13 to 14;
12.18 youth aged 9 to 10;
12.21 youth aged 8;
12.24 youth aged 6 to 7.
Youth who wish to take part can only register on race day at zalencentrum De Gracht on Marktstraat (in the city centre near the church in ’s-Heerenberg). Registration costs €2.50.
This sum includes the BibTag which records their times. Each competitor receives a nice souvenir medal.
Kab Midi Run
Online registration for this race (7.5 K) possible as from September 1st.
Directions and parking
Parking facilities are signposted. Take the A12 motorway in the direction of Arnhem, then take the Emmerich/'s-Heerenberg exit. Continue in the direction of 's-Heerenberg and follow the signs.
Changing and showering facilities
Changing facilities are available in the vicinity of the Start/Finish line.
